As a medievalist, some of whose work has been on editing practice and theory, I'm interested in the epistemological (as well as technological) break between manuscript and print cultures and equally interested in current shift to digital culture. As a dean, I supervised my then-institution's instructional technology program (until they found someone actually qualified to do so!), an experience that completely changed my understanding of the possibilities of technology in service of teaching and learning, for faculty as well as students.
