My background is in music (BS), business (BS), English (MA), and cinema (graduate certificate). Currently, digital platforms have allowed me to further develop the alternative (non-linear) narrative of my dissertation. I was inspired by the pathways approach I've seen on Scalar and am excited by the new scholarly narrative approaches and genres made possible by DH.
Lately, I've been wondering how work in DH might prepare PhD students (and possibly myself) for future careers "outside academe" --what is out there for English PhDs other than the tenure track job market (that will still make use of both the skills and content knowledge we've developed)!?
