I am a third-year English PhD student at Northeastern University. My interests are in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British literature and the history of science, from empiricism to eugenics. I was much more technologically aware prior to returning to grad school; after completing my MA in English, I worked in marketing for five years, in a time when advertisers and marketers were learning to generate leads from blogging, website visitors, and social media data, as well as manipulate keywords to generate traffic. Alas, my skill set has decayed, but I’m still a bit obsessed with data. (And for what it’s worth, the mention of Galaga made me miss Atari…)
